The importance of testing screening technology has been highlighted in the 2019 Wolfsberg Group Guidance on Sanctions Screening.  Effective testing of any identity screening systems requires a wide range of skillsets, from risk assessment to data analysis and most importantly, an understanding of the role that transcription and linguistics play in the different ways that names can be presented.  Our team has many years’ experience testing such systems  for international clients, including Tier 1 banks and leading providers of AML screening technology.  Over the last decade, we have developed comprehensive proprietary test data and specialised methodology to determine how closely a system is aligned with our client’s individual risk appetite.  We have extensive experience not only in testing these systems but also in documenting the findings and recommendations in a manner that will satisfy future review by regulators, auditors or other 3^rd parties.
